I recommend not buying this guitar at all. It's a very poor quality guitar, and it sounds pretty awful. You're much better off buying a nicer used model instead of getting one of these. If you're dead set on these, at least play a ton of them until you get one that's decent sounding, but decent is about the best you'll get. [read more on Audiofanzine]

All in all I think the Jackson JS20 is a decent attempt by the company to have a good low end version of their famed Dinky or Soloist style guitars. It's obviously not to the quality of even some of the mid level stuff and the parts are not of the best quality, but the craftsmanship is decent and when you get one that's setup well, you've got a ... I would definitely recommend it as an entry to mid level guitar. My only complains would be the fret buzz, thus not allowing you to play with light strings. [read more on Audiofanzine]
